KATHUA: Four government officials were suspended after they were found absent from duty in Kathua district, an official spokesman said on Tuesday .

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rohit Khajuria yesterday, during a surprise visit at the DC office complex, found some officials absent from duty, without any proper leave or permission, the spokesman said. “The DDC had issued notices to concerned officers to explain their positions, whereas four officials of different offices have been suspended due to their unauthorised absence,” the spokesman said. According to the spokesman, Khajuria directed them to maintain punctuality and movement registers in their respective offices. “He had directed the district heads to be on time and adhere to the office timings strictly so that general public does not face any inconvenience,” the spokesman added.
