AKHNOOR: Army Public School (APS) Akhnoor celebrated Annual Day-cum-Prize Distribution Function on Monday at Sangha Auditorium, here.
The Chief Guest, Maj Gen M.K Mago, Patron APS Akhnoor was received by Chairman Brig Gautam Segan and Principal of the School.
The function began with lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest followed by welcome song and Ganesh Vandana.
Annual School Report was read out by the Principal, K.C.S Mehta who highlighted various achievements of the school in different fields.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students on the theme ‘Festivals’. The prizes were given by Chief Guest to students who had excelled in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. Cash awards were also given to Prajwal Bral, Mohit Gupta, Milan Sharma, Nidhi Sharma, Vivek Sharma, Suneha Devi, Ashwani Ganesh, Priyanka Devi, Bharti Sharma, Saloni Shamra, Simran, Ratul Dhiman, Riya, Monika Bhau and Bhanu Partap for their excellence in CBSE Class XII results 2017. Best sports person award among boys and girls was given to Shobnam Bhardwaj and Kanika Rajput. Other students awarded include Suraj Bartwal, Akanksha Devidas (Best NCC Cadets), Chhavi Sharma (J&K Fencing Championship 2017), Areesha (Best Speaker), Mansi Tiwari, Karan Yadav, Ankit Kumar (Gold Medlist in Sahodaya Atheletic Meet 2017).
Professional awards were given to Talitha Philip Psychologist, Joginder Paul Musician and Faqir Chand Office Attendent. The Chief Guest also inaugurated the Annual Edition of school magazine ‘Disha’. He advised teachers and students to work hard for forth coming annual exams. Vote of thanks was presented by Talitha Philip.
