JKAACL holds folk musical programme

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organised traditional folk music programme here at Government Higher School, Gho Brahmana, here on Monday.
Ram Sarup Sharma, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Gho Brahmana was the Chief Guest.
Rampal Sharma, former Sarpanch, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL and Popinder Singh Paras, Editor, Punjabi were also present in the presidium.
Ram Sarup Sharma appreciated the participating folk parties from the adjoining areas. He mentioned that the students and youth will be encouraged to serve the society through their talent.
Earlier, while speaking on the occasion, Dr Arvinder said that as per the directions from the Ministry of Culture the youth is involved through the respective schools in organizing such activities so that the hidden talent can be rightly hunted.
A number of literary and musical activities are being organized in the schools of the entire Jammu region, he added. He further said that On the Spot Painting competitions are also in the pipeline for children and the Director, School Education, Jammu has extended full sport in organizing such activities in the all districts of the region.
Rampal Sharma also spoke on the occasion. The folk parties presented their Punjabi folk include: Kathu Ram and Party (Rarha), Raj Kumar and Party(Swankha), Kewel Krishan and Party (Trindiya), Ajit Pal and Party(Sajjad Pur), Bodh Raj and Party (Gho Brahmana), Kuldip Majotra and Party (Mishian) and a student from the school Rashan Lal of 10th standard.
Bishan Das, Assistant Cultural Officer, JKAACL conducted the proceedings of the programme while Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Punjabi presented vote of thanks.
