JAMMU: A massive protest rally was taken out by the PHE daily wagers, ITI trained and CP workers in here on Monday in support of their demands.
A large number of temporary workers of PHE Department from various Divisions and PHE Sub Divisions under the banner of All J&K PHE ITI Trained and CP Workers Association ( Jammu Province), led by its president , Tanveer Hussain assembled at Chief Engineer’s office at B C Road and started their protest rally towards civil secretariat.
The agitating workers were carrying banners and placards in their hands and raising loud slogans in support of their demands.
They were demanding their regularization of PHE workers pending.
The protesting workers interrupted by police personnel disrupting movement of traffic for some time. Tanveer strongly condemned the attitude of higher authorities and alleged that despite assurance by the Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu on the floor of the Legislature during January Budget Session in Jammu, regarding regularization of temporary workers, nothing has been done till today.
They warned the government to face the massive pretests and Secretariat Gherao if it does not come up with the SRO of regularization in till upcoming State Budget Session.
Others who addressed the rally were Deepak Gupta, Subhash Chander, Bhanu Partap, Manjeet Singh, Vijay Kumar, Jeevan Singh, Pawan Kumar, Tilak Raj, Altaf Hussain, Ravi Kumar, Rajesh Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Darshan, Hoshiar Singh, Maqbool Hussain and Rafiq Ahmed Dar.
