Govt committed for overall dev of Kargil: Haji Anayat

KARGIL: Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali on Monday adopted Kako Shilikchey area of Kargil town and assured people for its all-round development under his CDF and other schemes.
Interacting with people of the area, the Chairman said that ensuring sustained development of Kargil town is among top priorities of the Government, and a number of projects for the development of the town have been initiated while others are being conceptualized. He added a mechanism to monitor the status of developmental initiatives undertaken by the Government has been put in place to ensure completion within the stipulated period of time.
The Chairman said that all efforts are being made by the present regime to deal with challenges on account of civic infrastructure, housing congestion, heavy traffic, solid waste management and other civic issues. He said that focus is being laid to ensure creation of civic amenities so as to ensure that Kargil town is in a position to avail facilities at par with the other towns and cities in the state.
On the demand of the people of the area, Haji Anayat Ali gave on spot directions to the officers of Municipal Committee Kargil to take immediate steps for shifting of Municipal Committee Toll Post near Shilikchey Spring to an alternate location so that the cleanliness of the spring is maintained besides the locals do not face any inconvenience.
Haji Anayat also directed the concerned officers to lay concrete footpaths in the area on modern patterns besides announcing to provide dustbins to every household in the area out of his own expenses.
SSP Kargil Tsering Gyalpo, Executive Officer MC Kargil Abdul Gaffar Zargar besides other concerned officers accompanied the Chairman.
Meanwhile, the local people while welcoming the Chairman thanked him for adopting their area and appreciated him for personally visiting them to take the first-hand appraisal of their issues and grievances.
