United Club Udhampur wins opening tie in Sher-e-Kashmir T20

UDHAMPUR: United Cricket Club (UCC) Udhampur won the opening match of Sher-e-Kashmir T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Organising Committee Chairman Vijay Khajuria at Subash Stadium, here on Sunday.
In the opening tie, UCC Udhampur trounced Reasi Cricket Club by 53 runs.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, UCC scored 159 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Ashwani Kotwal was the top scorer with 47 runs off 35 balls while Himanshu Chauhan added 34 runs off 31 balls to the total. For Reasi Cricket Club, Sunny Malik picked two wickets while Jasin and Nitin shared one each.
In reply, Reasi Cricket Club failed to chase the target and was bundled out for 106, thus lost the match by 53 runs. Vidur with 23 off 19 balls and Sunny Malik 19 off 12 balls were the main scorers.
For UCC Udhampur, Ritek was the most successful bowler who clinched four wickets while Brijesh took three and Ashwani Kotwal claimed two wickets.
Brijesh Sharma was declared Man of the Match.
Earlier the tournament was declared open by the Chief Guest, M.P Bahuguna, DIG CRPF in the presence of Guests of Honour, Ashok Khajuria, Chief Planning Officer Udhampur and Maharan second-in-command 187 Bn CRPF.
Others present were Vijay Khajuria, Bhushan Sethi, Ram Khajuria, Naresh Anthal and Shyam Saroop Kalsotra.
Today’s match was officiated by the technical panel comprising Rakesh Sharma, Raman Sharma, Sunil Khajuria, Naresh Singh and Inder Gupta (Manga).
