New Convent Institute celebrates Annual Day

RAMBAN: New Convent Institute held Annual Day celebrations by holding a mesmerising colourful cultural programme here at school premises on Sunday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ramban Mushtaq Choudhary was the Chief Guest while Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Headquarter Imtiyaz Ahmed was the Guest of Honour.
The programme started with the prayers by the students followed by welcome speech by School Chairman Mehboob Hussain.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest said that education is a basic requirement for overall development of students and attaining the same is never ending process.
He stressed upon the students to choose police service as career to serve the nation. He informed that police has initiated various programmes for assisting students in education and sports.
He advised the youth to resist themselves from the drug addiction and other social evils besides come forward to curb the crime from the society.
Chairman of the school asked teachers to focus on moral education to create a better society. He said that extracurricular activities play vital role in grooming the personality of students.
Dogri, Bollywood, Kashmiri and Punjabi dances by the students enthralled one and all.
Later, outstanding students in academics were also awarded by the school management.
