JAMMU: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed, Arun Kumar Choudhary, on Saturday declared the Inter- Battalion Sports Meet-2017 open at Police Advance Training Ground, here.
The opening ceremony was attended by S.D Singh Jamwal IGP Jammu Zone, S.A Watali, IGP Armed/IRP Jammu Zone, Vijay Kumar, DIG AP Jammu besides other senior police officers, civil officers, retired police officers and a large number of spectators.
Speaking on the occasion, ADGP Armed complemented the Organising Committee for holding the meet.
While highlighting the aims and objectives of meet, ADGP said that armed police is organising Inter Battalion Sports Meet to provide opportunity to outstanding players to show their talent in the games and get selected to represent the State as well as the national level teams.
He also witnessed the inaugural match of Tug-of-War played between IRP-7th Bn and JKAP- 13th Bn which was won by IRP-7th Bn.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Organising Secretary, S.A Watali said that 28 Battalions of AP/IRP are participating in the tournament. He said that 797 players will be participating in 16 events. DIG AP Jammu, Vijay Kumar presented vote of thanks.
