DPS Jammu hold workshops for primary teachers

JAMMU: Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu on Saturday organised workshops for Primary teachers on ‘Joy of teaching and learning Mathematics’ and ‘English language Capacity Building.’
The Resource Persons were Pooja Pandoh and Ritu Gupta. It was attended by around 25 mother teachers of class I & II and English and Mathematics faculty of Classes III-V.
Teachers were explained interesting methods of introducing new topics in the class and grasped techniques of making learning more joyful for the children.
In Mathematics, activities were held for innovative teaching of place values, fractions, dodging tables, odd-even numbers, etc.
The resource person said that while learning the children may make mistakes but these mistakes must be accepted and respected, while the stress should be laid on developing 3Cs in children-Courage, Curiosity and Creativity.
In English, the aim was to revitalise the approach of teachers towards teaching of the English language, as the language has become the operating system for the global conversation. The focus was laid on refreshing the latest techniques of ELT and developing reading abilities of the young learners.
Principal DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra appreciated both the Resource Persons for sharing their knowledge with their co-faculty and said that such sessions on knowledge sharing and exploration would enable the teachers to reflect and enhance their own knowledge and at the same time to guide their students well. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta congratulated the whole team of teachers.
President RCT, Ajatshatru Singh, Pro Vice Chairperson, Ritu Singh and Director, S.S Sodhi extended their best wishes to staff for organising the workshop.
