JAMMU: The international quarterly magazine ‘Urvashi’ for research, literature and culture of Hindi published from Bhopal announced Antar-Rashtriya Urvashi Samman for the year 2017 and Shivani Anand has been awarded in the category of Nav Lekhan in Hindi for the year 2017.
Shivani Anand from Jammu got this award for her contribution as a poet with her maiden book ‘Mere Khayal Kehte Hain’ a collection of Hindi poetry released on 2017 here at Jammu.
Shivani Anand besides poetry also writes short stories both in Hindi and Dogri languages.
She has also written a Hindi play ‘Agnipariksha’ which was staged many times with her solo performance under her own direction which received great applause by the respective audience.
Shivani Anand is also working as casual announcer and comparer of Radio Kashmir Jammu.
She is also regularly participating in National level Hindi writers’ conferences, Kavi Sammelan, regional and State level seminars in the languages being written in Jammu and Kashmir.
She is also regular contributor in Sheeraza, a bi-monthly magazine in Hindi and Hamara Sahitya, an yearly book published by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
