DDC Ramban listens to people’s issues

RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Tariq Hussain Ganai on Friday undertook an extensive tour of Ukhral area to assess the requirements related to various basic facilities and problems being faced by the local people.
He also inspected ongoing developmental works taken up under various projects of State and Centre Governments.
Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner listened to the issues of local people at Ukhral. A large number of villagers including those from remote and inaccessible areas projected their demands.
The people apprised the DDC about the problems and difficulties faced by them including shortage of drinking water, poor condition of power sector, poor drainage, dilapidated lanes, dearth of health facility, irregularity in old age pensions, non availability of timber and fire wood.
They also demanded blacktopping of roads, revision of BPL list and development of the area as tourist destination.
Responding to issues, the DDC directed officers present to look into the issue of electricity bills being served to un-electrified households. He directed the Forest Range Officer to camp in the area for providing timber and firewood to public as per their requirements.
He further directed the officers to remain in contact with the people and pay regular visits to all remote areas.
Meanwhile DDC ordered for on spot redressal of most of highlighted problems and passed necessary instructions to the district officers for resolving all the issues raised by the locals. He assured public that their genuine demands would be fulfilled soon.
SDM Ramsoo Vikar Giri, Xens, BMO, Tehsildar Ukhral Nayaz Ahmed and other concerned officers were also present.
