Saffron party playing dirty politics over the disputed Article: Harsh
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Accusing the BJP of duplicity and double dealing and resorting to delay and deny tactics over the resolution of Article 35A row by seeking successive adjournments in the Supreme Court, scores of Panther activists spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and other leaders staged a protest against the Saffron party at Exhibition Ground Jammu.
The agitated protestors charging the BJP with playing the politics of betrayal, torched its effigy and sought its resignation from government for having belied the hopes and aspirations of the people.
Accusing the BJP Government both at the Centre and in the State of completely exposed for its hypocrisy and unprincipled politics, Harsh Dev Singh said that repeal of Art 35A which formed a part of BJP’s ideological DNA was most vociferously raised not only by its senior Central leaders during the elections but its State leaders were also seeking its abrogation describing it as illegal and unconstitutional.
“Surprisingly, the Central Government through its Attorney General K.K Venugopal sought six months time before the hearing could start over the issue on the plea that the time was not proper to proceed with the matter in view of the interlocutor appointed by the GoI to hold dialogue with all the stakeholders to resolve Kashmir issue. However, considering the importance of time, a three judge bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Mishra deferred the hearing by thre months”, Harsh maintained.
Wondering over the absurd plea of Central Government for seeking adjournment of the hearing, Singh lambasted the BJP for playing the politics of subterfuge by using delay and deny tactics for its political interests.
Castigating the Saffron leaders for bartering away the aspirations of the nationalist people of the State for the loaves of power, Harsh regretted that the BJP having its own government in the State had earlier filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court supporting the stand of the PDP wherein it described Art 35A as an established law decided by the Supreme Court in the past. He pledged Panthers Party shall leave no stone unturned to oppose, expose and depose the Saffron party for its duplicity, deceit and perfidious character.
Among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Partap Singh, Shanker Singh Chib, K.K Sharma, Nirmal Kishore, Shiv Nath Ex-Sarpanch, Stiffness Gill, Rashpaul Singh, Mohinder Singh, Udhayveer Sambyal, Capt.
