Asks bank brass to make list public along with credentials

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Airing apprehension that deserving Jammu candidates have yet been ignored in the recently announced selection list of Relationship Executive by J&K Bank Limited, Team Jammu on Monday demanded that credentials and initials of the selected candidates should be made public.
In a statement issued here today after holding an urgent meeting, Chairman, Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal while expressing resentment over recently announced list of selected candidate by the Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited, sought transparency and credentials of the aspirants.
Pertinent to mention here that the bank had earlier in the month of March issued its Relationship Executive (RE) selection list of 350 candidates along with 1,250 contractual appointment offers to left over shortlisted candidates against available vacancies in Banking Associate cadre.
Among the offered 1,250 Banking Associate positions, only 872 candidates joined and remained with the bank hence leaving 378 vacant positions in the cadre.
“The bank authorities should come out clearly on the list issued few days back and it was released through an advertisement published in the newspapers published state-wide,” said Zorawar and pointed out, “there seems to be another case of discrimination with Jammu province and this can’t be tolerated any further.”
He said that like other departments, the list should have been published with parentage, address and merit along with name to bring transparency into the system.
“Jammu has always been discriminated since decades in the hands of Kashmir centric ideologies and in view of that, we apprehend that the list released is ‘unfair’ and it should be made public to clear the dust,” said the chairman. Jamwal recalled that already J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and State Service Selection Board (SSB) have deliberately been ignoring deserving Jammu candidates in selection process. He said that during the last three years Jammu candidates have been ignored in the selection lists issued by JKPSC and SSB.
