JKAACL organises Bhajan Sandhya at Oldage Home Ambphalla

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with Association for the Welfare of Senior Citizens on Sunday celebrated International Elders Day by organising Bhajan Sandhya at Oldage Home, Amphalla, here.
I.D Soni, President, Oldage Home Amphalla was the Chief Guest while Chander Gulati, Managing Director, National Garages, Jammu presided over the programme. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL, K.K Mahajan, Senior Vice President, R.C Gupta, General Secretary, B.M Kohli, Vice President, J.B.S Johar of Oldage Home, Amphalla were also present in the presidium.
I.D Soni appreciated the academy for organising Bhajan Sandhya here with the senior citizens and said that through this gesture the elders of the Oldage Home will not only be entertained but also be provided the environment of spirituality.
While delivering his presidential address, Chander Gulati said that this is for the first time that academy is organising such events here and celebrated Elders Day with elderly persons of the region. He also complimented the performing artists for presenting best of Bhajans in their melodious voices and succeeded in bringing the smile and a ray of peace on the faces present on the occasion.
Earlier, while welcoming the distinguished guests, Dr Arvinder said that academy feels blessed organising Bhajan Sandhya for respected elderly citizens and all possible efforts will be made to make this event as a regular activity.
He further detailed about the future activities of the academy and also assured more activities in near future here in this complex.
The artists who performed include Yash Paul, Suman Lata, Suraj Singh, Vanshika Jaral, Jeewan Sharma, Rakesh Anand(Flute), Joginder Paul (Tabla) and Amarjit Singh (Violin).
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Mitali Gupta and vote of thanks was presented by Ashok Koul, senior member, Oldage Home Amphalla.
Among others present were Suman Paul, Vijay Gupta, senior and prominent citizens.
