Kathua to get three new roads under CRF: Dy CM

SRINAGAR: The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh on Thursday said that the road connectivity in the Kathua district would be getting the requisite boost by way of getting three new road projects worth Rs 58 crore under CRF.
Dr. Singh said that the Union Ministry of Transport and Highways has been kind enough to sanction seven new road projects in the State out of which three amounting to Rs 58 crore would be constructed in Kathua district. He said that Bani to Bilawal via Duggar covering a distance of five kilometers would be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore where as upgradation of Sukrala road (double lane specifications) covering a distance of six kilometers would also be taken. Similarly, seven kilometers Chadwal to Magloor via Mauri road would also be undertaken.
The Deputy Chief Minister said by these initiatives the road connectivity and mobility of the major parts of the district Kathua would be catered to and also properly augmented.
It is pertinent to mention that the Union Ministry of Transport and Highways has approved seven road projects which would be connecting 53 kilometers in five districts of the State including Kathua, Jammu, Baramulla, Reasi and Doda. An amount of Rs 131.19 crore has been sanctioned for the above mentioned projects besides also a bridge to be constructed over Urlani to Pali in Jammu district.
