Bio-fuel must replace fossil fuel to reduce pollution: Priya

SRINAGAR: Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Education said fossil fuel which is not that easily available and creates air pollution must be replaced with bio-fuel or other sources of energy to save our planet. We should rather encourage use of bio-fuel, solar energy or electricity to run automobiles besides industries to reduce level of pollution in years to come.
Priya Sethi was speaking at a function organised in connection with World Bio-fuel Day organised by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India in association with National Yuva Corporation Society (NYCS) at Khanmoh, Srinagar today where she was the Chief Guest. Yudhvir Sethi, Senior Vice President BJP presided.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya said world agencies working on alternative fuel have a goal for bio-fuels to meet more than a quarter of world demand for transportation fuels by 2050. This if achieved will reduce our dependency on petroleum and coal. She said countries like Brazil have switched over to manufacturing of automobiles that run on bio-fuel and we also need to follow similar pattern to save our planet. She said that by all means we need to save fuel and help our next generations live comfortably. It was because of clarion call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that over that over eight million well-heeled people gave up their cooking gas subsidy and helped government save Rs 4,166 crore, she added.
Yudhvir Sethi in his address said that we need to set examples for others to follow when it comes to saving fuel or switching over to alternative fuel. The Union as well as State Government, he said are working on the projects and we must be prepared to face certain harsh yet favourable decisions in days to come. Sethi said and praised the initiative of students in planting bio saplings. Arif Raja General Secretary BJP and Muhammad Anwar Khan State Coordinator NYCS also planted tree saplings in the slopes of Khanmoh.
