RAMBAN: A man on Wednesday got injured in a bear attack at hilly area of Thati village in Ramban Forest Range.
The person identified as Thaker Dass was busy in fields when he was attacked by a wild bear. The villagers on hearing his hue and cry, rushed to the forest and rescued him.
Keeping in view injuries received by the victim in bear attack he was referred to GMC Jammu for further specialised treatment
As per locals of area bears and leopards often move into the village in search of food and attack villagers and their cattle.
MLA Ramban expressed displeasure over negligent of Wild Life Department and directed the officials of the department to take measures to protect villagers from bear. He also said that he will provide every possible help to the victim.
