Sunil Sharma elected President AKAJK

JAMMU: Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports, Sunil Sharma has been unanimously elected as President of the Amateur Karate-Do Association of Jammu and Kashmir (AKAJK), here on Sunday.
Former President AKAJK, Ambedkar Gupta was elected as General Secretary, Rahil Gupta and Rehana Javed as Vice Presidents, Raja Shabahat Iftikhar and Vishal Sharma as Joint Secretaries, Deepika Chauhan as Treasurer while Deepa Sharma, Shaveta Gupta, Hassan Khan and Rahul Sharma as Advisors of the association, a handout issued here on Sunday said.
The General Body members of the association were Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mir, Mujahid Yaqoob, Ajaz Bhat, Waseem Hassan, Yuvraj Singh, Umesh Rekhi, Tushar Jandial, Waseem Bari, Vishal Singh, Amit Sangra, Abdul Hameed Teli, Ghulam Nabi Dar, Anil Sharma, Vijay Mahajan, Digvijay, Suraj Parkash, Anup Singh Bandral, Rinku Sharma and Mohd. Ayoob Parray.
Sports Commission and Technical Commission were also appointed for the smooth functioning of the association. Tushar Jandial was appointed as President and Mujahid Yaqoob as Secretary of Sports Commission. Umesh Rekhi was appointed as President and Anil Sharma as Secretary of Technical Commission. Former DGP YSS and Vice Chairman, AKAJK, Asgar Ali was also present on the occasion. The elected body is affiliated with Karate Association of India (KAI). Sanjeev Kumar Jhangra, Joint Secretary KAI was Observer and the election was held under the chairmanship of Anil Gupta, Chairman AKAJK.
