Bhim forms legal aid committee for oppressed of Kashmir

JAMMU: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron NPP and Executive Chairman of State Legal Aid Committee, who is also Chairman of Supreme Court International Committee of lawyers has constituted a 9-Member Committee in Kashmir Province to provide free legal aid to the victims of the State Government, mostly the youth and students.
Prof. Bhim Singh declared that hundreds of youth and students detained in Kashmir valley under the draconian Public Safety Act have been rotting in the stinking police stations and outdated district prison of the valley.
Prof. Bhim Singh assured the victims of the State Government reminding them that he himself (Bhim Singh) has faced all this brutality in Jammu and Kashmir. He reminded the victims of state atrocities that he (Bhim Singh) has suffered for several years in the rotten prisons for eight and half years. He reminded the youth of Kashmir that he (Bhim Singh) had suffered prison in Anantnag, Central Jail Srinagar, Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi and several other police stations in the Valley even when he was a sitting MLA.
Prof. Bhim Singh has authorized a nine members committee in the Valley with Azaz Ahmad Bhat as Coordination Secretary to visit the detained persons wherever they are detained in Kashmir Valley and prepare a report so that the Panthers Party shall file an appropriate writ petition before the Supreme Court of India to ensure that justice is done to every citizen of India and the erring official shall be brought to justice.
Prof. Bhim Singh assured the suffering youth and students in the valley that the thought of creating Panthers Party was conceived while he was in Srinagar prison in 1981. He said that several Kashmiri leaders were also detained in Srinagar jail. Prof. Bhim Singh said that the Panthers Party shall continue its battle for justice for all and for the introduction of all fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of India so that people of Jammu and Kashmir shall no more be deprived of the fundamental rights as it is today.
