KATHUA: Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) launched a plantation drive in collaboration with Bhagat Kabir College of Education Kathua in Chak Lakshman and Chak Jalfad, and adjoining area of Railway Station Govindsar Kathua imprudent to the unanimous decision taken in General Body Meeting of the KVM held on July 30, 2017. Dr. Bharat Bhushan Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua by the Chief Guest on this occasion.
The Chief Guest while addressing the audience stressed upon the need of maintaining a proper coordination between masses and administration. He also exhorted upon the need of conserving and protecting the environment, ecology ,natural habitat and flaura-fona. Prof. Ram Murti Sharma President of the Manch while elaborating the objective of carrying out the plantation drive highlighted the activities of KVM and laid stress on maintaining a balance between development and environmental conservation. The members of the Manch, students and staff of the host educational institution planted hundred of saplings of medicinal plants including Neem, Arjun, Beda, Hard, Amla, Tunu besides other ornamental, Shady and horticultural plants of different verities.
The programme was attended by the representatives of various NGO’s and social organization. Patimbar Datt Sharma general secretary of KVM projected vote of thanks.
Among others who participated in the plantation -Prof. Saroop Chander Pitamber Dutt Sharma, Dr. Kuldip Mahotra, Babu Ram Bhagat, Col.Ved Parkash Sharma, Bansi Lal Gupta, Thoru Ram Mahajan, Preeti Bala, Khem Raj Sharma, Rajiv Mahajan, Mahesh Kumar Gupta, N.S Jasrotia, Pooja Sharma, Dr. Sohan Lal Gupata, Amar Nath Balotra, Sat Paul Gupta, Mahender Gupta, S. Rajhvir Singh, S. Ranjit Singh, Jagdish Singh Salthia, Dr. Som Raj Sharma, Manhor Lal Mehra Balwant Raj, Dhian Chand, Ritten Sharma, Diksha, Luxmi Rani, Pinki, Salthia, Master Arnav etc. and saplings were provided by Social Forestry Division Kathua.
