Extend benefits of Seventh Pay Commission: NMC

JAMMU: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) urged upon the Chairman of the Pay Committee Penal set up by the State Government to extend the benefits of Seventh Pay Commission to the employees of the State Government and pensioners, dead line for which has been announced by the Finance Minister on the floor of the House on January 11, 2017 while presenting the year 2017-18 State Annual Budget.
Interacting with media persons here on Saturday, President NMC Subash Shastri urged the Pay Committee Panel to submit the appropriate recommendations at the earliest possible covering, pay bands, medical allowance, gratuity, family pension, death cum retirement gratuity, grade pay and interim relief. “Since there is a still eight months time for the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission in J and K State, the need of the hour is to grant 20 to 30 per cent interim relief and medical allowance to Rs 1,000 per month in favour of pensioners and an interim relief should be sanctioned forthwith as financial relief to these categories” he added.
Shastri reminded that the State Government headed by Chief Minister has shown seriousness toward the regularisation of 61,000 daily rated workers and has started their bio-metric system of regularisation, since the number of likely working class is large one and procedure is a lengthy one, it would be appropriate to extend the dead line for Bio-metric registration beyond August 5, 2017. Among others who were also present on the occasion include Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Ram Singh, Pran Nath, Sham Lal Gupta, Sunil Kochar, Jaipal Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Com Barkat Ram, Subash Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, Tarseem Sharma, Tilak Raj and Girdhari Lal.
