Challan against XEn PHE, AEE for allotting work without tendering

SRINAGAR: Vigilance Organisation Kashmir produced Challan before the Court of Additional Special Anti-corruption Judge Anantang presided by Masrat Shaheen against accused public servants namely Mangat Singh, the then Executive Engineer (XEn) PHE Division Bijbehara, Habibullah Mir, the then Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), PHE Subdivision Anantang and Contractors Mohammad Altaf Bhat, resident of Uranhal and Mohammad Mukhtar Allaie, resident of Zirpora Bijbehara in a case in which work of fixing of pipe especially sluice valves and gate valves was allotted to aforesaid contractors without tendering process.
The instant case vide FIR No 04/2009 was lodged at Police Station Vigilance Organisation Kashmir on the outcome of an enquiry conducted into the allegations that aforesaid XEn and AEE besides Mohammad Shafi Teeli the then Junior Engineer PHE Sub Division Anantang under a conspired plan of dishonestly allotted aforesaid work to contractors namely Mohammad Altaf Bhat and Mohammad Mukhtar Allaie without tendering process and with no market survey for purchase of items to confer undue benefit upon each other.
The investigation of the case was finally concluded as proved against the accused public servants namely Mangat Singh and Habubullah Mir besides Contractors Mohammad Altaf Bhat and Mohammad Mukhtar Allaie.
All the accused were produced before the aforesaid Court along with the charge sheet wherein two accused namely Mohammad Altaf Bhat and Mohammad Mukhtar Allaie (both Contractors) were sent to Judicial Custody at District Jail Anantnag.
