JAMMU: Ace Chess player from J and K, Meenal Gupta brought laurels to the State as she has become highest FIDE rated player of J and K State leaving behind all the men also.
Gold medal winner in the Commonwealth Chess Championship held at Sri Lanka, 15-year old Meenal after brilliant show at Grandmaster level A category chess events at Barcelona, Spain got International rating 2031 which is higher than all the senior men of J and K.
Now she will participate in world youth at Montevideo Uruguay.
She expressed thank to Finance Minister Dr. Haseeb Drabu and R.K Gupta for great support and encouragement.
