STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Panun Kashmir (PK) condemned the imposition of Kashmiri language in the colleges of Jammu region demanding roll back of the order.
“We want to state that the Kashmiri language in its present form is more a Persio-Arabic intrusion rather the language which emerged from the Vedic-Sanskrit roots. We have immense love for this language but we have no doubt that this language is now being made an instrument in the Islamic demographic invasion of Jammu. It is also being made a tool in promotion of separatism in Jammu,” a joint statement issued by the Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman Panun Kashmir and Dr Agnishekher, Convener mentioned here on Thursday.
“Imposition of Kashmiri language in a selective manner in Jammu while doing nothing for Dogri, Punjabi and other languages spoken in the State smacks of nefarious motivations and sectarian objectives.
“It is important to state here that all the successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir resolutely obstructed the attempts to introduce Kashmiri language into the schools of internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus. These governments ruthlessly opposed the teaching of Kashmir language to Hindus of Kashmir in Devnagri script. How is it that the State Government on one hand stopped the teaching of Kashmiri language to Hindus of Kashmir and on the other hand is pushing in a dictatorial manner to impose it upon the Dogras of Jammu?,” they asked. “We have been witnessing the fast demographic invasion of Jammu in recent times. We have witnessed how lakhs of canals of government lands have been allowed to be first encroached upon and then regularised only to effect the demographic change of Jammu. We have also seen how Muslim refugees from Burma and Bangladesh have been settled in and around Jammu. We are also conscious of the grim reality that BJP has only stood as a bystander as well as a collaborator in all such designs including the recent decision to introduce Kashmiri language into the educational institutions of Jammu,” they stated.
“We once again demand that the order to convert 49 vacant posts of Assistant Professors for Kashmiri language in Jammu province is cancelled forth with,” they added.
