J&K Editors Association meets Governor
SRINAGAR: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Editors Association led by its President, Rasheed Rahi, called on Governor, N.N Vohra here on Wednesday.
The delegation voiced its concern about the continuing prolonged delay by the State Government in regard to the empanelment of various medium and small newspapers. The delegation also asked for medium and small newspapers being provided with adequate advertisement support by the Central and State governments and increase in the budgetary provisions for grant of advertisements. They also demanded the establishment of a Press Club in Kashmir for promoting the larger interests of the press and journalistic fraternity.
The Governor assured the delegation that their concerns would be duly taken up with the State and Central Governments.
The delegation included Abdul Majeed Mir, Muzafar Khan, Haji Farooq Wani, Feroz Ali, Rasikh Rasool, Rashid Rahil, Imtiyaz Bazaz and Reyaz Ahmad.
