SRINAGAR: Police arrested two bootleggers and recovered illicit liquor and beer tins from their possession.
During routine Naka checking, a party of Police Station Sumbal intercepted a Sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK15-2243 at Champazpora Ajas.
On checking, three bottles of liquor and 70 tins’ of beer were recovered from the possession of Mehraj Ahmad Tantray, son of Ghulam Mohammad Tantray and Bilal Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Qadir, residents of Mantrigam Bandipora.
A case FIR number 94/2017 under Section 48 Excise Act was registered and investigation was taken up.
