Sharat is new Gen Secy of Athletics Association

JAMMU: Inspector with Jammu and Kashmir Police, Sharat Chander has been elevated to the post of General Secretary by the Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Athletics Association in an election meeting held here on Monday.
Formerly Treasurer with the Association, Sharat has replaced international athlete and Excise Inspector, Ravinder Singh to the important post of General Secretary. Subsequently, Ravinder was made Senior Vice President.
Earlier, the members elected Suneel Mahajan as President and Dr Ashutosh Sharma as Working President. Punit Arora (Jammu) and Rifat Abdullah (Kashmir) have been made Vice Presidents.
Other unanimous appointments were Sarwant Singh (Associate Secretary), Ajay Sharma (Treasurer), Nirmal Singh (Jammu) and Azad Ahmed (Srinagar), Resident Secretaries. Vinod K Bhatia (Jammu) and Sheikh Tulal (Kashmir) were nominated as Joint Secretaries.
Executive Members: Prof. H.S Chib, Dr. Anshuman Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Vikas Gupta, Virender Kour, Tanvir Ahmed, Sahil Raina, Tahir Mir, Mohd. Yaseen, Mukesh Sharma and Parveen Kumar Bhougal. Organising and Technical Committee: Chairman: Romesh Sharma (Athletic Coach). Members: Sohan Singh, Gurucharan Singh, Shamas Din, Tahir Mir and Harvinder Singh.
Vice President of J and K Olympic Association (JKOA), Capt. Murti Gupta was observer while Kuldeep Singh Jamwal and Vijay Saraf acted as returning officers.
