JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Monday said that Tri-colour is our pride and will always fly high in the State.
“Tri-colour is our pride. It had and will always fly high in the State of Jammu and Kashmir,” Dr Singh said.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had recently said that any tinkering with the special status granted to the State will have serious ramifications and there will be no one to hold the Tricolour. He said that for the pride of the Tri-colour, 17 people sacrificed their lives in 1953 agitation and it will never be let down. “In what context the Chief Minister spoke about Tri-colour, I have no idea,” he asserted. Meanwhile on detention of an advocate by the NIA during a raid yesterday in Jammu, Dr Singh further said, “law will take its own course and whosoever is involved in anti-national activities will not be spared.”
“No matter the person either belongs to Kashmir or Jammu, he will be punished as per law,” said the Deputy Chief Minister.
