FMPHWs’ immolation bid foiled

JAMMU: On their 32nd continues protest, three Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) attempted self-immolation by pouring kerosene oil which was foiled by leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) and police.
In the meantime four FMPHWs fell un-conscious and were shifted to Government Medical College Jammu and are presently admitted in Emergency Wing where their condition is stated to be critical.
The health services at Government Medical College and associated hospitals in the Jammu region remained paralysed as strike of medical employees entered sixth consecutive day today.
Earlier, addressing the protesting FMPHWs here at Madam Shashi Bala Memorial Park, DHS Complex Jammu, Sushil Sudan assured that JKMEF and all the affiliated associations of Health Department would fight for the cause of FMPHWs till logical result is found.
Later, all FMPHWs including all employees of Health Department took out a strong rally under the banner of JKMEF from DHS Complex Jammu and after culminating through Raghunath Bazaar, reached City Chowk.
Meanwhile, JKMEF extended its pen down strike across Jammu Division till 20th of June, 2017.
