Medical employees demand release of salary

GANDOH: Medical employees under the banner of Medical Employees Association Gandoh on Wednesday held a protest under the chairmanship of president, Rayaz Ahmed, Vice president Dr Mohsin, General Secretary Syed Shukoor and Anayat hussain at Sub-Division Hospital(SDH) Gandoh. The protest Dharna was attended by Medical Employee Association and FMPHWs from Sub-Division Gandoh. The medical employees who are without salary for the month of May and FMPHWs working under 2211-Family Welfare who are without salary for last eight-nine months staged Dharna in Sub-Division Gandoh.
The protesting employees shouted slogans in support of their demands. “We are facing immense financial problems and are living the life of penury, as despite repeated requests made to the Director Health Service (SDH) Jammu for releasing our salaries, nothing has been done except giving assurances”, they added They again warned the government to come up with the concrete solutions to their problem otherwise the employees of health employees will be left with no choice except to observe complete shutdown of health services.
Kathua: The struggle initiated by Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) in support of long pending demands of female multiple health workers remained continued on 31st day. The employees staged protest demonstration at various hospitals and health centres throughout the district. District Congress Committee President Former MLC Subash Gupta along with Congress activists reached District Hospital Kathua and listened to the demands and problems of employees. President Neeraj Malagar, Gen Secretary Sanjeev Sharma, Sanjay Verma of District Medical Federation Kathua, Shub Lata, Rajesh Bala of female multiple health workers of District Kathua apprised Subash Gupta regarding their demands. Subash Gupta after listening to demands made a scathing attack on the present PDP-BJP regime for ignoring the hardships of health employees and for not releasing balance amount of pending salary.
Meanwhile, the senior leader of National Conference (NC) Saraf Singh Nag has strongly condemned the Government’s shameful act of Lathi-charge on FMPHWs to whom the government was liable to pay salary for more than one and a half years. He said that the police have cane charged the starving female workers while the government is raising slogans of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. He asserted that Modi Government’s slogans are falsified by its own government. He urged the government to pay the salary of the health workers and save them from starvation.
