JAMMU: As many as five senior athletes from Jammu and Kashmir have become technical officials of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) by successfully passing the national level examination.
These individuals were among 11 such successful athletes from North Zone, who appeared for the centralised AFI technical official examination held on zonal basis.
The exam for North Zone held a Shimla in neighbouring Himachal Pradesh in April last. Similar, exams were conducted at Chennai (South Zone), Kolkota.
Successful candidates from J and K: Chamel Singh, Narinder Paul Sharma, Goutam Sharma and Vikesh Kumar.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of J and K Amateur Athletics Association, Ravinder Singh congratulated all five successful candidates from J and K and wished them a bright future ahead.
