Contractual lecturers’ hunger strike enters day 117

JAMMU: The hunger strike by contractual lecturers (10+2) entered in the 117th consecutive day here on Saturday.
The contractual lecturers under the banner of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Forum assembled near Press Club and burnt the effigy of Education Minister for not showing its serious concern towards their problems. They were demanding regularisation as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010.
Those who sat on chain hunger strike were Ashwani kumar, Abdul Jabbar Bhat, Madhvi Sharma and Ramana Kumari.
Addressing the gathering, Arun Bakhshi said that despite all the clarification made by the Divisional Commissioner by communicating to the Administrative Department that the demand of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers is genuine government is unable to hear even to the contractual lecturers who are on hunger strike in such hot weather conditions. Arun Bakshi State President of the Forum said that the hunger strike will continue till their demands are met. Vice President of the Association, Zabir Hussain Shah said that government should adopt sympathetic way to settle the problems of the highly educated lecturers.
