BHADARWAH: Life suddenly came to halt in picturesque Bhadarwah Valley as cold wave conditions gripped the Valley and it’s outskirts due to wind-storm followed by fresh snowfall in upper reaches while torrential rain, hailstorm and thunderstorm coupled with chilly winds on Saturday afternoon.
After a comparatively hot day due to above normal maximum temperature on the second Saturday of the Holy fasting month of Ramadhan, weather suddenly changed in the afternoon in Bhadarwah and its adjoining areas.
Due to sudden change in weather, temperature dropped suddenly and life came to halt due to heavy rains and fresh snowfall in Kailash Hills, Seoj Dhar, Shankh Padri and Rishi Dal. In the valley, windstorm followed by hailstorm, torrential rain and thunderstorm for about an hour, forced people, particularly riding two-wheelers and pedestrians to take shelter in shops and under some sheds and wear woolens.
Those driving heavy vehicles had to put on their headlights due to poor visibility. Fruits and vegetables were also damaged due to the weather. There were also reports of power failure in some areas.
