VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and JKPCC General Secretary Manjit Singh on Thursday accused NDA Government of muzzling voice of poor and farmers in the country.
“The BJP led NDA Government in Centre has been ruling for rich people and corporate houses but not for the poor people. They muzzle voice of the neglected people using force against them,” said Manjit Singh, former Minister, while speaking before the party workers at Vijaypur.
JKPCC General Secretary Manjit Singh said that they have shot directly on the protesting farmers for their rights. “Instead of listening to their grievances, the police on directions from government fired upon the farmers in Madhya Pradesh (MP). BJP has failed to run the Government in centre as well as in other states putting the country on fire,” he said, while citing this example.
He said that Congress Government never allowed any violence against the protesting people. Instead, they were heard and their demands were accepted. “Democracy for BJP has different meaning. Those who voted them to power are being crushed by them (BJP) and it is alarming situation of the nation,” he warned.
Manjit Singh said that this government has brought disappointment for the farmers as well as for the soldiers who are fighting enemy for the cause of the nation.
In Kashmir, he said, they chose which weapon to be used against the militants but in other parts of the country, they don’t hesitate to open fire on the civilians without any provocation.
“The BJP led Government in Centre and other parts of the country have been exposed for their double standard. They should adopt a secular character and redress grievances of all without any discrimination against any citizen of the country,” he added.
It is not only about MP, in Rajasthan and Maharashtra too, he claimed farmers and poor sections are facing trouble from the respective governments.
Modi government, he said, is only surviving on media hype. “They have no ground. They have not worked. They are only inaugurating the works done by the previous Congress Governments” Manjit maintained.
