POONCH: Around 50 players, including 25 girls from Power House Hockey Club Poonch represented Jammu and Kashmir at different National level competitions thus helped the district excell in the game this year.
Young boys and girls in Power House Club are trained by retired SAI Coach, Sham Lal Sharma, who happens to be Vice President of the Hockey Jammu and Kashmir. The club is also assisted in coaching the young hockey players by Pawan Kumar (Fitness Trainer) and Mukesh Kumar (Junior Coach).
“In the sporting season of 2016-2017, 23 boys and 25 girls of Power House Hockey Club Poonch participated at the national level hockey tournament in different age groups,” said Sham Lal Sharma.
Meanwhile, Power House Club thanked the office bearers of Hockey J and K, officials of J and K State Sports Council, concerned officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports and Department of School Education for their support. The club had special mention about Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch, Nirdosh Kumar for extending the logistic support.
