Contractual lecturers’ strike enters day 113

JAMMU: On 113th day of the continuing chain hunger strike, contractual lecturers on Tuesday held a protest showing resentment and warned government if their demand is not conceded at the earliest they will intensify agitation.
The protesting lecturers demanded their regularisation as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010. Jeevan Kumar, Zabir Hussain Shah, Ramana Kumari and Anjana Bajaj sat on chain hunger strike. While addressing the protesters, Arun Bakshi, State President of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Forum criticised the government for its apathetic attitude towards them. He said the government should come forward on humanitarian grounds and address their genuine concerns. Jeevan Kumar, State Press Secretary, said the hunger strike will continue till their demand is not fulfilled.
