KATRA: Wrestler Ajay Sharma of Landen Power House, Udhampur lifted Fifth Annual Nomain Kesari Dangal title 2017 organised by Kotli-Bajallian Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Chairman Nomain Dangal Committee Ved Parkash Pujari and General Secretary Mohd Sharif at Deva Mai Road Nomain in Tehsil Katra and district Reasi. In all, 55 bouts were played in this Vishal Dangal.
In the main bout, Ajay defeated Talab of Mallerkotla in Punjab in a tough bout that lasted for 19 minutes. The winner was awarded with cash prize of Rs 5,000 along with Mata Ki Chunni while runner-up wrestler Talab got Rs 4,000.
S.P Katra Sumir Kotwal was the Chief Guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the wrestlers. Joint Secretary J and K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Block Medical Officer Katra Dr. Gopal Dath and SHO Katra Arvind Singh Sambyal and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), General Secretary Reasi District Indian Style Wrestling Association were the Guests of Honour.
Prominent persons present on the occasion included Sarpanch Onkar Singh, Sarpanch Rattan Singh and Sarpanch Baldev Singh.
The second main bout was won by Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu who defeated Ravi of Bhawani in Harayana. Another second bout was won by Mohanu of Chand Roop Akhara Delhi who defeated Nissar of JKP. Third bout was won by Tinku of Rohtak who defeated Kaka of R.S. Pura. Fourth bout was won by Vikas of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi who defeated Babba of Domana Akhara. Fifth bout was won by Bobari of Sarore who defeated Akram of Chouadi and sixth bout was won by Amir Khan of Nargada who defeated Kulbir Singh of Domana Akhara.
Members of Nomain Dangal Committee and Technical Officials who helped for conduct of this one day wrestling event included Ved Parkash Pujari (Chairman), Mohd. Sharif (General Secretary), Suraj Parkash, Sarpanch Romesh Chander Chowdhary, Master Santosh Kumar, Om Parkash Magotra, Monohar Lal, Ashok Kumar, Radha Sham, Rakesh Kumar (Kaka), Pankaj Sharma, Mohan Lal (Naib Sarpanch), Numberdar, Karan Singh, (Prem Nath (Premu), Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Deepak Wazir, Om Parkash Verma, Rajinder Kumar, Pawan Singh, Mohd. Fareed, Tulinder Kumar and Murli Dhar (Munna).
