POONCH: Excise and Taxation sleuths on Friday conducted a surprise check of vehicles and recovered a fine of Rs 5,560 from the toll evaders.
In order to tighten the noose around violators of various provisions of the J and K Levy of Toll Act and Rules thereof, the excise sleuths from Rajouri-Poonch Range, led by Inspectors Shehzad Azad and Mohd Parvez laid a Naka at Mughal Road to check the toll evasion. The Naka was laid under the guidance of Excise and Taxation Officer, Farooq Choudhary and on the directions of Excise Commissioner J and K, Mohd Javed Khan and under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner, Jammu, Ganshyam Singh. A large number of vehicles were put to check and an amount of Rs 5,560 was recovered as a fine from the toll evaders.
