Madrid :  There was late deadline-day delight for Valencia as the Spanish Primera Liga outfit sealed a last minute loan deal for Spain striker, Alvaro Negredo from Premier League champions, Manchester City.

The 29-year-old’s move includes an option for Valencia to buy him at the end of the season for a fee thought to be in the region of $30 million, reports Xinhua.

It was on the stroke of midnight local time Monday when Valencia published the confirmation of the transfer on their website with a simple message.

“Valencia Football club have reached an agreement with Manchester City for the loan with an obligatory option to buy him.”

Valencia confirmed that Negredo will be officially presented to the fans Tuesday night.

The move is a quick return to Spain for the striker who spent just one season in England, where he enjoyed a fine first half to the season, earning himself the nickname ‘The Beast’ among Manchester City supporters.

Nevertheless, his form and fitness seemed to drop badly in the second half of the campaign and he lost his place to Edin Dzeko, eventually missing out on a place in Spain’s World Cup squad as well, although his numbers of 23 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions is still very impressive.

The Spaniard began his career in the Rayo Vallecano youth system, before joining Real Madrid. From there, he performed well at Almeria and after two years in Almeria he moved to Sevilla.
