Panjsoo Club, Shaheen Club Dharhama win volleyball titles

BHADARWAH/SRINAGAR: With a mission to inculcate sportsmanship among village youth, 33 Bn CRPF organised Inter-Village Volleyball Tournament, final of which was played here on Wednesday.
In all, 12 teams from different schools of Bhadarwah Tehsil participated in the three-day tournament.
After competing in round robin matches, Bheja and Panjsoo Club reached into the finals after defeating Thuba and Bhadroot respectively in semis.
The high voltage final was played today at Boys Higher Secondary School Sartingal in which Panjsoo outclassed Bheja by 4-1 (25-20, 25-12, 30-32, 25-13).
Both the teams were presented with winner and runner-up trophy and medals along with cash prize of Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively by the Commanding Officer 33 Bn CRPF, A. Padma Kumar. Sandeep Kumar of Sarounda Club was declared Man of the Match and Sameer of Qilla was adjudged as Player of the Tournament.
Second in command Neeraj Tyagi, SDPO Bhadarwah Brijesh Sharma, Tehsildar Masood Ahmed and SHO Bhadarwah Jatinder Sambyal wee also present.
Meanwhile, In the ongoing ‘Athwaas’ Volleyball Tournament organised by JKAP 11th Security Battalion in-collaboration with District Youth Services and Sports Budgam at Armed Police Complex Humhama, the final match was played, today.
In the final, Shaheen Club Dharhama defeated Friends Club Ompora.
Imtiyaz Ahmad of Dharhama team was declared as the Man of the Match and Farooq Ahmad as Man of the Series for their performances.
Commandant JKAP 11th Bn Shahzada Parveen distributed the prizes among the winner and runner up teams.
Among others Dy. Commandant Fayaz Ahmad, DySP Amara Naseem, DySP Abdul Rashid Wani were also present.
