JAMMU: Hitting out at separatist leaders in Valley for instigating local youth in stone pelting, State President, Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Rajiv Mahajan urged Central Government to take stern action against the Pakistan sponsored agents and their sympathisers for provoking violence in Kashmir.
Expressing concern over injuries to 40 CRPF and 20 police personnel in the stone pelting during encounter with militants in Budgam, Rajiv said that security forces had to fight it on two different levels- against militants and the stone pelting locals as well.
“Obstruction by the locals made the operation of security forces even more difficult, as they were forced to divert their attention from the militants,” he said. Praying to God for early recovery of injured security personnel, Rajiv Mahajan asked locals of the Valley to steer clear of their operations and not pose as an obstruction during encounter.
Stone pelting unarmed police forces has been a common phenomenon over the last few years and it is only getting worse with each passing day, he said.
What is more surprising is that politicians from various folds have come out in support of the separatists and have rather condemned the army for its strong stance against the miscreants. The Indian Army, since the turn of 2017 has lost many precious lives in the line of duty, due to rising incidents of violence in the Valley.
