JAMMU: State President, Shri Ram Sena, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajiv Mahajan has come out in support of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s move on ban of illegal slaughter house in the State.
“I convey my best wishes to Yogi Adityanath for taking UP on the path of development and ensuring a great future for the people of the State,” said Rajiv Mahajan in a statement issued on Tuesday. Seeking similar steps being taken by BJP leaders of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajiv Mahajan asked them to stop mushrooming of meat shops in City of Temples and take strict action against the shopkeepers selling meat illegally and ban illegal meat shops too. He said the presence of meat shops near temples and in streets of Jammu city hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, so these needs to be shifted to markets outside Jammu city away from the vicinity of temples.
He said that it is surprising that the administration has allowed the businessmen to open meat shops in the City of Temples like grocery shops, thereby hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus of Jammu as also of the visiting pilgrims.
Government must take steps to ensure that this sensitive issue is resolved amicably and immediately, Mahajan added.
Mahajan also urged ministers from Jammu to play their positive role in closing down these meat shops in the City of Temples and shift them outside the municipality limits.
