Refugees’ deputation calls on Div Com

JAMMU: A deputation of various refugee organisations called on Dr. Pawan Kotwal Divisional Commissioner Jammu under the leadership of Dayal Singh Wazir President Shiromani Akali Dal J&K in connection with the difficulties being faced by the Refugees of 1947 while submitting their forms in the office of PRO with the supporting documents.
Wazir brought to the notice of Divisional Commissioner that the innocent refugee people are being harassed in the office of PRO by asking for unwarranted formalities and papers for the purpose of completing the file for one-time settlement claim of Rs 5.50 lakh. “The refugees who demand copies of Form ‘A’ and other documents are being asked to produce number of revenue papers including CTC copies of pre-47 documents, allotment and mutation documents as a proof”, the deputation said adding that the ‘A’ forms available with the refugees are not being accepted and they are asked to obtain fresh ones to attach with their claims. The deputation further said that many of the refugees could not get their Aadhaar Cards which has become an essential requirement.
It was demanded that a special drive be taken to prepare Aadha,ar Cards. After listening to the deputation, Divisional Commissioner issued direction to PRO to simplify the method and ensure that no superfluous formalities are stressed upon.
He also asked the deputation to provide a list of non holders of Aadhaar cards so that same shall be prepared and issued to the displaced persons at earliest. Others present in the deputation include Advocate Amrik Singh Executive Member National Law and Legal Affairs State BJP, Davinder Singh, Ramnik Singh, Fateh Singh, Raja Singh, Mohinder Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Surinder Singh Kala, Convener J&K Motor Transport Association Jammu, Kulwant Singh, Harpreet Singh Choutu, Gajan Singh, Rajinder Singh, Harpal Singh Prince and Inderpal Singh Sarpanch.
