Deport Rohingyas, Bangladeshis on priority: Madan

JAMMU: Mandli Mitran Di organised an interactive session on demographic change in Jammu and Kashmir here on Saturday. On the occasion, Former Member Parliament and Chief Patron of the Mandli, Madan Lal Sharma inaugurated the program while President, Mukherjeet Sharma (Retd IFS) presented keynote address.
Former Minister and Senior Vice President JKPCC, Sham Lal Sharma presided over the function. Madan Lal in his address appealed to the Center as well as State Government to take a urgent call on the issue and ensure that all factors causing threat or developing fear among the Jammuites due to illegal settlement of foreign nationals in and around the Jammu city should be addressed on priority. He added that State Government in lieu of Article 370 should deport all illegal settlers including Rohingyas, Bangladeshi on top priority to avoid any untoward incident.
Sham Lal Sharma, in his address, appealed to the gathering to work for awakening people of Jammu region who are facing oppression from vested interests since long. He cautioned that the issues like demographic change and discrimination with Jammu if not addressed immediately it will create unsolvable problems for its habitants. He reiterated this is high time for Jammu people to unite irrespective of party -politics and watch the interest of Jammuites.
While deliberating on the issue, Sham apprised gathering about the difficulties being faced due to the large scale immigration of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi in Jammu. President Mandli Mitran Di, M.J Sharma in his keynote address, gave a detailed account of the issue and highlighted the criminal silence of the consecutive government who didn’t paid any heed to it resulting in illegal settlement surrounding the Jammu resulting in the people feeling themselves unsafe.
Among others who spoke on the occasion include Kuldeep Verma, Harbhajan Singh, S.P Langer, Suresh Dogra, Gurucharan Singh, Rajinder Singh, Mohan Choudhary, J.L Sharma, Vijay Sharma and Rajiv Khajuria.
