Transporters to observe strike on March 29

JAMMU: Expressing resentment towards the callous attitude of State Government, Chairman, All J and K Transport Welfare Association, Tarlochan Singh Wazir warned government to fulfill their demands otherwise transports will observe complete strike on 29th March, 2017.
“Central Government is increasing the rate of petroleum products day-by-day and the State Government too is increasing the rate of taxes/ fees/ penalty,” he told reporters here on Saturday.
“Insurance Regulatory Development Authority (IRDA) move to increase the 3rd Party Insurance Premium more than 50 per cent too would affect them and State Government is also going to shifting the record of passenger tax in the office of the RTO from 1st April 2017,” he said.
“We have called on the State Government on 25th January, 2017 wherein the Chief Minister assured that their issues are very genuine and would be settled within days but nothing has been done till today,” he said .
“We are not interested to take an agitational path, but the State Government is forcing us to do so we have unanimously decided to observe complete strike on 29th March and no commercial vehicle will ply on the Lakhanpur- Srinagar route till our demands are not met,” he said.
