KATHUA: Excise department on Friday destroyed 850 Kg of Lahan and one working still during series of raids at Kathua District.
On the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Mohammad Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and ETO Eradication Wing Jammu, Suraj Chander Singh along with Inspectors Excise Arun Kumar, Shadi Lal and SI Prashant Mathur raided the Chakdrabkhan, Birsochak and Plota areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process one working still, more than 850 kilograms of Lahan and 10 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered by the raiding team from State land and were later destroyed.
