JAMMU: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Dr Karan Nayyar of Jammu as Physio of India under-23 team heading for ACC Emerging Team Asia Cup 2017 to be held in Bangladesh.
With this assignment, Dr Karan has become first Physio from Jammu and Kashmir to attain the distinction of representing the country at a senior international event. The Indian team shall leave for the proposed venue tomorrow.
In all, eight teams are taking part in this event besides India. They are Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Malaysia and Hongkong. Previously BCCI appointed Dr Karan Nayyar with India U-19 team for Challenger Trophy held at Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh last October.
This Jammu Physio was earlier associated with Jammu and Kashmir Football Association and has the credit of being certified Sports Physio from Asian Football Confederation.
