Implement Order No 66 in letter & spirit: PGTA

JAMMU: J and K Post Graduate Teachers Association (PGTA) expressed satisfaction on the recently issued Government Order No 66 of 2017 which states that teachers/masters having degrees through distance mode have to pass screening test prior to their promotion in the next grade.
In the meeting held here on Thursday, Convener PGTA, Naresh Kumar said the relevant test for PG Degrees shall be conduct by PSC and for Graduate/B.Ed Degrees by JKBOSE. General Secretary of the Association, Rajinder Kumar Sharma urged to implement the order No 66 in letter and spirit and direct the concerned authorities to conduct the screening test at the earliest, so that the posts of masters/lecturers which are lying vacant under DPC quota be filled up with high caliber teachers. He further said that the implementation of this order will not only raise the standard of education, but also benefit students to get quality education. The association appealed to the Education Minister to carry on the efforts taken by former Education Minister and Principal Secretary Shaleen Kabra in particular in streamlining the Education Department. Those who were present in the meeting included Parmjeet Singh, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Shakti Kumar, Ravinder Rao, Ajay Kumar Sharma and Prem Kumar.
