JAMMU: Two-day long J and K State Judo Championship organised by Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association under the aegis of J and K State Sports Council and J and K Olympic Association commenced at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Tuesday. The championship was declared open by the Chief Guest, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, General Secretary J and K Olympic Association and Chairman Affiliation Committee of IOA in the presence of the Guests of Honour, R.C Thakur and Varinder Dogra.
The opening day witnessed competitions in different weight categories of lower age groups of boys and girls under the guidance of technical panel following the norms of the Judo Federation of India.
About 200 judokas drawn from districts of the State are taking part in this competition, which is being organised under the chairmanship of Vikas Gupta. Prominent persons present on the occasion were Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Abdul Hamid Khan, Rameshwar Singh, Suraj Sharma, Rohit Sadotra and Munish Chatwal.
The results:
BOYS 20 Kg : Aman 1st, Aadvik 2nd and Satyksh and Bridvik, joint 3rd. 25 Kg : Anish Bhat 1st, Ayush Koul 2nd , Udheyvir 3rd and Bhanu 4th. 30 Kg : Swyam Ganjoo 1st, Veer Vansh 2nd and Rishat and Akshit Gandhi, joint 3rd. +35 Kg : Shivam 1st, Rakshit 2nd and Ravis and Rohan, joint 3rd.
GIRLS 20 Kg : Ridhi Bhagat 1st, Mehak Koul 2nd and Meena and Sonam, joint 3rd. 25 Kg : Haniskha 1st, Priksha Kow 2nd and Lavanya Koul 3rd. 30kg : Akshita 1st, Mannat Ganjoo 2nd and Aruhi and Sanya, joint 3rd. +35 Kg: Shikha 1st, Aruchi 2nd and Ridma and Sandya, joint 3rd.
