JAMMU: Panun Kashmir on Sunday felicitated Senior BJP leaders Munish Sharma and Balbir Ram Rattan, who were recently appointed the Vice Chairmen of two important undertakings of the J and K State, at a Annual Executive Council Meeting organized here.
The meeting was presided over by the President of Panun Kashmir, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo. The welcome and keynote address was presented by Virender Raina, National Spokesperson, who placed details of the activities undertaken by Panun Kashmir during the last one year. He also read out the recently launched Comprehensive Political Agenda and appealed to the community to wholeheartedly support this landmark initiative.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, in his presidential address, said that Panun Kashmir has been at the forefront of the struggle in exile launched by the displaced community of Kashmir three decades ago.
Panun Kashmir represented the fountainhead of the aspirations of the Kashmiri Pandit community and as such it gives a special responsibility to the leadership and the cadre of Panun Kashmir to take the struggle in exile to the new heights.
“We are conscious of the onerous responsibility that it entails upon us and appeal to the community to support the cause of Panun Kashmir for realization of Homeland as per Margdarshan Resolution. Panun Kashmir is the only response to the theo-facist struggle in Kashmir and the facade and drama of the so-called freedom struggle stands unmasked with the recent statement of Hizbul chief in Kashmir. We reject the concept of a theocratic state and would continue our struggle for human rights and civil liberties in Kashmir for all those who have been subjected to genocide and ethnic cleansing in Kashmir. The Kashmiri Pandits being the indigenous people have the first and the foremost right on the territory of Kashmir and are thus the primary stakeholders in the geo-political scenario of Kashmir,” he added.
Senior BJP leaders Munish Sharma and Balbir Ram Rattan complimented the leadership of Panun Kashmir for having played a crucial role in furthering the nationalist agenda in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and raising the concerns of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community at various national and international forums with deep commitment and devotion.
The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Upinder Kaul and Prof. M.L Raina presented vote of thanks. Among those who were present in the meeting include Prof. M.L Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee, Virender Raina, National Spokesperson PK, Prof. H.L Jalali, Senior Vice President, Moheni Raina, Chairperson-DOPK, Upinder Kaul, General Secretary, Kamal Bagati, Organising Secretary, Vijay Qazi, N.M Gadroo, Ravinder Punjabi and the core team of Panun Kashmir Youth comprising Sameer Bhat, Convener Panun Kashmir Youth, Pulkit Chrungoo, Ruskin Bhat and Shashank Kaul.
